Privacy Policy

This Privacy Notice tells you what to expect in relation to personal information about you that is collected, handled and processed by the Centre for Emotional Development (CfED)  

We acknowledge and agree that any personal data of yours that we handle will be processed in accordance with all current and applicable data protection legislation.

We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorized way, altered or disclosed.

CfED collects the majority of its information directly from you. You may provide us with further information by direct meetings, filling in forms or corresponding with us by post, phone, email or in other ways.

We will only retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes we collect it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.

 

The Centre for Emotional Development has two strands to the services that are provided, an educational strand and a clinical strand and each strand has a different additional privacy policy.

EDUCATIONAL STRAND

We will only use your personal information to administer your account and to provide the service you have requested from us namely the booking, invoicing and smooth management of the events we organise or that we support.

What information we collect about you?

The only information we collect about you is that given by you at registration or to update us, for example with a change of address.

The use of information.

The information you give us will be used for management of the events in addition to invoicing and payment for attendance at events. With your agreement, this will include sending regular information emails regarding future events.

Right to have data corrected or erased

Individuals have the right to have their data corrected or erased. Reasonable requests will be met within one month.

How long is data kept for?

Your data will be kept for as long as you remain on our mailing list.

CLINICAL STRAND

What Information do we collect about you?

The only information we collect about you is that given by you either at first registration, during clinical meetings or other clinical information for example from another professional.

The use of information

Information is used to practically provide the means of communication either by telephone, email or letter to ensure the smooth running of the clinical relationship. This will include appointment times, sharing of information, invoicing, financial and transaction data from providers of technical, payment and delivery services.

Notes are also kept following meetings and securely stored in password protected electronic files.

We only use software where data security is fully implemented and where their adherence to GDPR compliance is confirmed in their Terms and Conditions.

We will never share your information without your permission unless this is a matter of safeguarding either for yourself or someone else.

Information is normally kept on our system for 8 years after the closure of contact. If you would like to have your details removed from our system earlier, partially or entirely, we will be happy to consider this providing that there is no adverse reason (such as a complaint or a legal reason) for us to do so.

Working with children

We are aware of and abide by the regulations for collecting data on children under-16. Parental consent or consent from whoever holds parental responsibility is required to approve a child’s permission to use their personal data.

Information Applicable to both strands of work

We will formally review our data protection management annually to ensure it is fit for purpose and complies with current regulations.

We have appointed a GDPR Privacy Officer. This is Leslie Ironside.

Personal Data Breaches

If a breach occurs, we will follow ICO guidelines.
